WHAT IS LOTS OF CHARITY?

Lots of Charity is a website that provides visitors with the opportunity to purchase exciting and one-off items through an auction process, without necessarily needing to attend an auction event. Visitors to the site can browse, bid and purchase items via a unique and exciting process whilst raising money for charities. Through its many contacts including A-list celebrities, LOC helps charities source exciting & exclusive auction lots to sell on the website and at linked events. These lots are then auctioned via the website by individual charities. The LOC website offers pre-event auction bidding, online only auctions and private online auction events. HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM A REGULAR AUCTION SITE?

Lots of Charity is an auction site that benefits many charities. The site provides the platform for charities to match auction lots with bidders. Payments are mad direct to the charity. Lots of Charity also helps charities to source exciting and one-off lots with the help of its connected team including world-renowned portrait photographer, Alistair Morrison, as well as global charity fundraiser Andrew Taee.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING LOTS OF CHARITY OVER ANY AUCTION SITE?

It's simple - your money will go straight to the charity and you will liaise direct with the charity AND you will find one-off exciting lots for auction on Lots of Charity that cannot normally be accessed. This is achieved through the team behind Lots of Charity.

 

MEMBER REGISTRATION AND SIGN IN

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER?

In order to place a bid or participate in an auction you'll need to be a member. Just register by clicking REGISTER/SIGN IN at the top of the page in the navigation bar. If you just want to browse the lots, you can do so without the need to register.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO SIGN IN?

You must sign in before you can place a bid on a lot or participate in an auction, or to view your MY LOC personal information, preferences and settings.

WHAT IF I HAVE FORGOTTEN MY PASSWORD?

We have provided a link on the SIGN IN form to request a new password. We will then send you an email with a temporary password so that you can SIGN IN and in MY LOC re-enter a new permanent password.

 

BIDDING

CAN I VIEW A LOT BEFORE I BID?

Lots are only available to view via our online images. You can, however, contact the relevant charity directly to ask questions, or should you require further information.

Please ensure that you are satisfied you have all the detail you need before you place a bid on a Lot.

HOW DO I BID?

Once registered and signed in you may place a bid on any available Lots. Take a look at How To Bid for more details on how you can participate.

DO I HAVE TO BID OR CAN I JUST PURCHASE A LOT?

Lots of Charity is an auction site and as such we believe bidding is not only part of the fun, but also the very best way we can help raise money for charity.

The website is not set up to accept offers for outright purchase.

I HAVE RECEIVED A PRIVATE INVITATION, WHAT DO I DO?

Members who have received a private invitation to an auction will need to SIGN IN and then, in their MY LOC folder under Invitations, enter the access number that they have been given. This will access a private auction which is only open to those who are invited. If your are not a member, then you must register first.

CAN I SPEAK TO SOMEONE IF I NEED HELP WITH BIDDING?

PAYING

HOW DO I PAY?

In the event that you place a winning bid on a Lot you will receive an email with a link to pay. This link will allow a secure payment direct to the associated charity. Most charities will accept card and PayPal payments.

DOES ALL THE MONEY GO TO THE CHARITY?

No payment is taken by Lots of Charity. Charities that host auctions with Lots of Charity pay a 10% admin fee to Lots of Charity to cover marketing, administration and legal costs.

HOW DO I TAKE DELIVERY OF MY LOT?

You will receive an email from the charity hosting the Lot advising on delivery and any other details.

HOW DO I TAKE DELIVERY OF MY LOT?

Successful bidders will receive an email from the relevant charity once the bid has been won. You will be able to liaise direct with your charity on payment and taking delivery of the lot.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE LOT THAT I WON?

We would sincerely hope that this would not happen. We aim to maintain an extremely high level of remarkable lots on our website; and work with charities to ensure lots are presented clearly, detailing terms and conditions as well as full information on the lot detail page.

We aim to provide good quality images for all lots. Should you feel any image shows insufficient detail, please contact us on info@lotsofcharity.com.

We do always recommend that you read the Lot detail provided by the charity and request any further information you require before placing any bid.

The search option in the header at the top of the site is there to help you find any Lots or auctions featured on the site. If there is a Lot you cannot find please contact us:

MANAGING MY MEMBERSHIP

MY LOC

Your MY LOC private members area is where you can access all of your preferences for the Lots of Charity site.

You can monitor any items you're watching or on which you have placed bids and see your bid history; and you can activate any private invitations you might receive.

Please be sure to keep your details updated as these will be used to keep you updated on your bidding, if you have requested SMS or email notifications.
